BIPOC Healing

Transcend is dedicated to creating safe spaces for BIPOC individuals and our allies too.

If you are interested in starting therapy or joining one of our mindful movement classes please check out our FAQ, Services, Classes descriptions, teachers/therapists to submit a new client request or sign up for one of our classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please be advised that we are not offering free consultations. Please only reach out if you are ready to schedule your initial session. If you have additional questions, email assistant@transcendwellnessbo.com .

How much are your sessions?

Private pay ranges from $92-150. Please view your desired therapist detailed bio for accurate pricing.

Can I call to schedule an appointment or if I have questions?

Transcend is 100% virtual which means we handle all questions and scheduling via email. Due to our therapists being occupied with clients we are unable to answer the phone on a consistent basis. However, once you get started with your therapist you will have him/her direct contact number.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We are accepting individuals with BCBSTX, United Healthcare, Optum, Lyra, and Aetna. Due to the uncertainty of insurance, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider to ensure we are in your network as well as any deductible and/or co-pay details. Please complete a new client request so we can check your benefits.

Do you offer couples therapy?

Yes. At this time we do offer couples therapy.

Do you offer therapy services for minors?

Yes. Ages 13+. Please read each therapist bio to see who offers counseling to minors.

Are sessions virtual or in person?

All sessions are virtual at this time.

How long are the sessions?

All sessions are typically 50 minutes to1 hour.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment modality used to process past traumas so that you are no longer triggered or emotionally reactive. For a more in-depth explanation of how EMDR works, see the client handout.

Do you have any weekend availability?

Yes; however, weekend availability is limited at this time. Each of our therapists have varying schedules.

Do therapists at Transcend Wellness only serve individuals from BIPOC communities?

No. We serve people from all backgrounds; however, we specialize in working with individuals from BIPOC communities.

What if I'm running late to my session?

We understand that life happens, and we all have busy schedules. Clients are allowed a 10 minute grace period to make it to their session. Please communicate with your therapist should you be late to your appointment. Log into the client portal to reschedule or cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

You are responsible for canceling your scheduled appointments 24-48 hours in advance to avoid a late cancellation fee. All late cancellations and no-shows will be charged $130. Please be advised, even if you have insurance, this fee will be your responsibility. We implement this policy because missing your appointments hurts three people: you, your therapist, and other clients who needed services.

Are you LGBTQ friendly?

Yes. All therapists have experience serving diverse populations.

I’m ready to book! How do I schedule my first appointment?

We are eager to connect with you! To be brought on as a client, you must be able to attend sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Therapy has been proven to be the most effective when incorporated into your lifestyle regularly. If you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, click here.
